The collection agency fraud is like this: the agency solicits the business from one credit manager at a very low rate. Then, they agree on the fee structure. The credit manager places the accounts with the collection agency and then that agency has the right to collect the balance due. Then, things start to heat up from there.
Usually the creditor will contact the collection agency. Then three things are bound to happen:
On the good side, the agency will admit they got the money but there was an error and they could not clearly determine which client gave the money. Then the problem is solved, but only after the creditor picked up on that.
But if the agency does not admit the fraud, then the creditor can pursue charges on them. But in many cases the collection agencies get away with this because the creditor never finds out that the debtor paid due amount.
In some cases, there is another type of collection agency fraud. The agency may fail to deposit the money and earn interest on that. After a while, when the creditor pressures them, they can give up the money. These are some of the forms of collection agency fraud that are most often encountered.
